Social Media Image Sizes

Every platform crops and scales images differently, and an upload that looks right on your screen can arrive with the subject's head cut off or a blurry, stretched banner. Below are the image sizes the tools on this page produce for each platform, and the tools themselves resize and crop your photo to those dimensions in your browser — without uploading it anywhere.

The Instagram, YouTube, X and Facebook sizes were re-checked in September 2026. Platforms change their layouts without much notice — in 2026 Instagram switched its profile grid preview to a 3:4 shape, although 1080 × 1350 is still the size for portrait posts in the feed.

Safe zones matter as much as size

Some images are shown in full on one device and cropped on another. A YouTube channel banner is 2560 × 1440 pixels, but only a narrow strip in the middle is visible on every screen. An X header is partly covered by your profile picture, and a Facebook cover is cropped at the sides on phones. The tools for these formats mark the area that is always visible, so text and faces don't end up hidden.

One photo, every platform

If you are posting the same picture in several places, the Social Media Image Resizer exports all the sizes you select in one go, each cropped around a focal point you set once. For a single platform, the dedicated pages are quicker because the right size is already selected.

Private by default

Resizing and cropping happen on your own device. Your photos are never uploaded, there is no account, and nothing is added to the image — no watermark, no branding.
