The service
Filewhisk provides free browser-based file tools. The tools run on your own device; we do not receive, process or store the files you open in them. No account is required and no fee is charged for the tools currently offered.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the files you process and for holding the rights necessary to process them.
- You agree not to use the site for unlawful purposes, and not to attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service in ways that harm other users.
- You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Because processing happens locally and nothing is stored, a lost or overwritten file cannot be recovered by us.
No warranty
The tools are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that a tool will produce a particular result, meet a specific file size, remain available, or work in every browser. Output quality depends on your source file, your browser and your device.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or the tools on it.
Advertising and third parties
This site displays third-party advertising and may link to third-party sites. We do not control their content and are not responsible for it. Advertising practices are described in the privacy policy.
Your files and our content
The files you open in these tools remain entirely yours. We claim no rights over them, and because they are never transmitted to us, we could not use them even if we wanted to. Anything you create with a tool on this site — a compressed photo, a signed PDF, a generated invoice or QR code — is yours to use for any purpose, commercial included, with no attribution required.
The site itself is a different matter: its text, page designs and code are ours, and the open-source libraries and fonts it uses are covered by their own licences, which are shipped alongside them. Copying the written content of these pages wholesale is not permitted; linking to them is always welcome.
Availability and changes to the tools
Tools may be added, changed or withdrawn without notice, and the site may be unavailable during maintenance or because of problems at our hosting provider. Nothing here is offered with an uptime commitment, and you should not build a process that depends on a specific tool remaining available in its current form. Because the tools run in your browser, a page you have already loaded keeps working even if the site goes down — but only until you close it.
Not professional advice
Some pages explain rules that sit close to legal or official requirements — electronic signature law, passport photo specifications, upload limits for official forms. That material is general information gathered from primary sources and kept as accurate as we can, but it is not legal advice and it is not a substitute for what the authority or document in front of you says. Where the two disagree, follow the authority.
Age
The site is not directed at children under 13, and is intended for use by people old enough to agree to these terms.
If part of these terms does not hold
If any provision here is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Failing to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
Changes
These terms may be updated. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
